It is such an honour to do this work.

Thank you for being here and inviting me in. ♡

Hi! I’m Janelle Cohos, Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors, and a Registered Psychologist in Alberta (College of Alberta Psychologists - Alberta only). I am also a proud mom of two daughters.

After several meaningful years in Calgary, our family recently made the exciting decision to move back home to Delta, BC. It feels good to be back. I now offer in-person counselling in Delta, and virtual services to clients across British Columbia and Alberta.

For over a decade, I’ve had the privilege of supporting individuals and couples through some of life’s most challenging seasons. I work with concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, parenting stress, perinatal mood disorders, self-esteem, life transitions, and relationship struggles. I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of Victoria in 2009 and my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Adler University in 2015. Since then, I’ve worked in private practice, corporate, and agency settings, helping clients build practical tools so they can feel more steady, confident, and connected in their lives.

Perinatal Mental Health (Pregnancy, Postpartum, Fertility)

Supporting parents and parents-to-be through pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenthood feels deeply meaningful to me. I have a special focus on working with moms as they navigate fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, and the evolving identity of motherhood. My own experience of pregnancy and parenting has shaped this passion and gives me a heartfelt understanding of how complex and vulnerable this stage of life can be. I have completed specialized training in maternal mental health through Maternal Mental Health Now and Postpartum Support International.

Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy

I am also an EMDR-trained therapist (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), an evidence-based approach that can help process trauma and other distressing experiences. In our work together, I draw from EMDR, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and self-compassion practices. I take an integrative, collaborative approach because therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all. We’ll tailor the process to what feels supportive and effective for you.

At the heart of my practice is a simple question: How can I best support you? Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, navigating a new chapter, or just sensing that something needs to shift, I’m here to listen and walk alongside you with care and respect.

Finding the right fit with a counsellor matters. If you’re curious about working together, I offer a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation so you can see if it feels like a good match.

When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me outside, staying active and soaking up time in nature with my family and friends.

I look forward to meeting you, or reconnecting if it’s been a while!
